I hope you all survived that crazy heat wave last week. We survived. We were on a Harbor Cruise with the Aquarium of the Pacific and enjoyed the cool sea air. But when we got back home..... we wished we were back on the coast. So let's get moving on our Top Ten for this coming weekend and week. Here's my Top Ten list of things to do locally or semi locally.

1. Bucket List. Do you have one? I love to make lists. And yes, we do have a summer bucket list. I have it posted on the Glendale Macaroni Kid Facebook page which you can find ">HERE. You can print it out and hang on your fridge. Here is a peek at our list.

2. Puglie Event and Adoption. There is this cool gallery I love called Gallery Nucleus. And it's the perfect combination of anime, retro vibes and kawaii. Well this weekend they are having a Pug adoption at the the gallery opening of the For Fans By Fans presents Puglie - The World is Your Doughnut. It's like a Pug-a-palooza. You can find more info on that HERE That all takes place this Saturday, July 14th.

3. Colorado Street Bridge Party. Oh this is such a fun event. We love to go. Everyone is invited to join Pasadena Heritage in celebration at the Colorado Street Bridge Party Saturday, July 14th from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. This night of music, dancing, vintage cars, free kids activities, and festive foods and beverages will be held atop one of the most beautiful bridges in the world. You can find info for that HERE

4. Surprise Family Play Day! Plan a day of fun and surprise the kids with the plan in a creative, fun way first thing in the morning. It doesn’t have to be a trip to Disney; the surprise itself will make it feel larger than life for them. You can find more info HERE. Then you can follow along and post your day with this hashtag #MKPlayDay . You can also use the bucket list for some ideas!!

5. Support a local small business. It can be brick or mortar or an online shop like Maria Lim's Usborne Books!! Maria is a new partner of Glendale Macaroni Kid! If you have not heard of Usborne, go check out her shop. We love the activity books. They are keeping my 5 year old very entertained while I write articles for you all, and Top Ten lists, like this! You can visit her Facebook page HERE. Look for a fun book review next week!

6. This Sunday the Aquarium of the Pacific has a great deal, Those who visit the Aquarium during Discounted Summer Late Nights will enter for just $14.95 after 5:00 p.m. The entire Aquarium, except Lorikeet Forest, will remain open until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday nights from June 17 to September 2. Guests can explore the new Tentacles and Ink exhibit featuring a day octopus, see the new baby seal, and dive into the Aquarium’s 20th anniversary celebration with new films, selfie stations, contests, and more. Go check it out!

7. Have a Water Balloon fight!! It's hot, and summer toys and fun are hitting the clearance racks now. Go grab a few packs and enjoy some good old fashioned FUN!! Old School!!

8. This Sunday is National Ice Cream Day!!! Yes you heard that right! Go head to your local Yogurtland, I know they have some sweet BOGO deals. Check your favorite shop to confirm any promos. Or head to your fave Mom and Pop shop or go hit the market and do a sundae bar at home DIY style. Grab some fun paper bowls, ice cream, sprinkles - rainbow of course, nuts, caramel or chocolate, whipped cream and a cherry.

9. Go have Coffee with a Cop! Some of our very favorite CHP Officers will be at the Starbucks in La Canada this Saturday, July 14th. It's a great way to meet the Officers who patrol your communities and our Freeways! Bring the kids, and have Coffee with a Cop. And maybe hot chocolate for the kids. Here is a flier on that event.

10. Write a letter. I know this sounds like a simple thing, but help your kids this summer write a letter to Uncle Eddie and Uncle Mo, or Grandma Mary or Grandpa Joe. Send a card to your favorite Aunt Sandy and Little Cousin Terri-Ann. Let them know you love them and what your kids have been up to this summer. Draw a picture or make a handmade card. I know it will be a nice surprise and make them feel loved.

So there you have, this week's Top Ten things to do! I hope you have a fabulous week.
