Our MacKid's Mucheesimo Time -- Adventures, Discovery & Fun Surprises

The Audacious Little Princesses

There have been a lot of princesses in our midst over the past week. We had a visit from from Disney Junior’s Princess Sofia celebrating the power of doing good and a visit from Angeleno Avenue Publishing challenging the everyday, typical idea of what a princess is supposed to look like. The publishers shared their “Audacious Little Princesses” book with us at a story time. I’ve never seen such a book that celebrates the diversity of “princesses” in such a creative way for girls. It was a delight to see the illustrations by Dano Marr to highlight such beauty, too. It has our girls thinking how fun it would be to forgo the commercial or more popular princess constumes and design their own. I challenge parents out there to encourage the same with their daughters. We all have a rich heritage that should be shared. More on that from my upcoming blog.
